Anne Merkel Rawle

Also known as Mom or simply Anne and the patient coach of Ellie, Emily and Bill through the years from the elementary levels of riding to National and International competitions.

Anne competed successfully through Intermediate in Eventing, the A/O divisions of jumpers, Working Hunters and Grand Prix dressage on home bred & raised horses over the years. Her foundation of correct and balanced equitation being of the utmost importance allows for students and horses to advance together in harmony.

Anne is an “S” licensed judge in Dressage and twice declined going for her FEI judge’s license due to the required amounts of travel which would force her to be absent from Watermark Farm for extended periods of time.

Here at Watermark Farm her responsibilities include directing the breeding program with careful selection of broodmare and stallion combinations, teaching her students, the day to day management of the farm and overseeing all the training of our horses and riders.

Eleanor Morris Rawle

Best known simply as Ellie or the youngest Rawle, Ellie just tries to keep up with the day’s efforts and enjoy life to the fullest with all the wonderful horses at Watermark Farm.

With her riding foundation carefully managed by both of her parents, Ellie has had great success in the dressage arena with both her USDF Silver and Gold medals to date and international rankings at Grand Prix. Her love of eventing and jumping has recently had a bit more attention with all of the talented horses at her disposal, but her love of the highest levels of dressage remains the focus of each day.

Here at Watermark Farm Ellie’s responsibilities include foaling, riding, a limited amount of teaching, photography and managing the various websites and promotional materials.
